A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…
If you’ve read my “Upcoming CALs” page, then you probably already know that we will be having a Star Wars crochet along from April to May this year. Excited? Me too!
This CAL will consist of a one large center panel (40×75), two long side panels (90×11), and six smaller inner panels/squares (25×25).
What stitch will this be worked in? I will be using straight HDC, but I will be doing 2 HDCs per “block” and I will be doubling the rows (essentially making each block 2×2). Clear as mud? Check out the video tutorial here.
Because there were twice as many options in our polls for the Light Side as there was for the Dark Side, I decided to select 8 designs for the Light Side and 4 designs for the Dark Side. Here are your winners:
Light Side: R2D2, Yoda, Chewbacca, Millennium Falcon, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo, Ewok
Dark Side: Storm Trooper, Darth Vader, Death Star, Boba Fett
If your square wasn’t chosen, don’t worry! It may still appear as a graph-only bonus square further into the CAL! (I’m looking at YOU, C3PO!)

And what’s with that starry background? I’ve decided to use a new brand of yarn, which I know to be a crafter favorite: Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn! I plan to use their I Love This Metallic Yarn in black. I worked up a swatch of this yarn against their I love This Yarn (non-metallic) in yellow, and the result was just what I wanted! (As this project will be gifted to my six-year-old brother, I know he’d insist upon the “stars”!)
This CAL will also have a super nifty alternate center panel! What do you think?

You can download the PDF Yardage & Color Chart now!
Below is the list of links for the PDF patterns for each panel. They will be updated as they become available.
